Marvao Medical is developing products for the vascular access device market.  Vascular access devices are used to gain access to a patient’s bloodstream by way of veins and are used to deliver a wide range of treatments.  Marvao has developed a new category of Central Venous Catheters (“CVC”) that is expected to reduce the rate of Catheter Related Infections, the single largest problem with chronic CVC usage.  Initially for use in the chronic CVC market the company is also developing a version of the product for the growing haemodialysis market.
