Enterprise Equity

  About ::
  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enterprise Equity is a national provider of venture capital to new and expanding companies throughout Ireland.

Established in 1987 by the International Fund for Ireland as a commercial venture capital company, EEVC's objective is to stimulate viable and self-sustaining growth in the private sector of the economy. This is achieved through investment of equity capital in well managed, innovative and growth orientated companies across a wide range of sectors.

To-date the EEVC Group has invested €50 million in over 70 companies throughout its investing territory in the Republic of Ireland and also in Northern Ireland.

In the Republic of Ireland, EEVC has since 2001 established venture capital funds on a joint venture basis with Enterprise Ireland, viz. (i) a €15 million fund aimed at established growth-orientated companies; and (ii) a €7 million seed capital fund aimed
at early stage technology companies. These funds are managed by EEVC.

In addition, Enterprise Equity is an Investment General Partner of the AIB Seed Capital Fund which has an overall committed fund size of €53 million. This fund is outlined on our webpage AIB Fund.

Enterprise Equity's approach to investing in businesses is simple. It can provide equity finance for seed capital, early stage enterprises, as well as for business development purposes.

EEVC is prepared to invest in companies focused on growth, backed by a solid and committed management team. It does not invest in property, leisure or retail businesses, but it will consider investment in most other sectors. EEVC will consider MBIs and MBOs where appropriate.

Individual investments can be made up to ca. €1.5 million. EEVC will participate in larger deals through syndication, and it has a practical and well developed network of international and domestic syndicate partners.

Enterprise Equity's offices are based in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Dundalk. See our Contact details for information.

How we can benefit you

  • We provide companies with the finance to realise their growth potential by investing equity capital in return for a minority stake.
  • Bear in mind that venture capital funding is often the foundation stone for leveraging other sources of finance from debt providers and other funding sources (e.g. private equity. Institutional and corporate investment).
  • We are medium to long-term investors. Our investment horizon is typically from four to seven years.
  • We have worked with other venture capital companies in Ireland, the UK, and North America as part of venture capital syndicates. We can actively introduce you to these organisations where appropriate and have a strong track record in this regard.
